Undoubtedly the finest Goldwing made to date.

After 73,000 miles I will have to say that overall the GL1800 Wing is the best motorcycle I have ever owned.   The Valkyrie runs a close second, but for touring the Wing has the definite advantage.  I have taken trips from my home in Troy, Missouri to Florida via Louisiana,  Myrtle Beach and back via the Blue Ridge Parkway,  Colorado and back via Texas,  Montreal and back via the east coast,  the Hoot at Knoxville,  California through 14 states  and the latest to Alaska.   I have replaced the battery and had the recalls on the speedometer, trigger wheel, and kill switch performed.  The bike has performed exceptionally well.   I would wholeheartedly recommend this motorcycle to anyone interested in comfortable touring.

UPDATE: 04/12/2008

I now have over 111,000 miles on the Wing. It still runs like new. I did have to replace the frame after the Alaska trip in 2003. It had two small cracks. Since that time I have made several other trips out west into the mountains of Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico as well as a trip last year through Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. Also, a trip to Nova Scotia by way of Maine and "The Cat". The Cat is a ferry from Maine to Nova Scotia. This year I had to have the frame replaced again due to a couple more small cracks. Honda thinks it is because of my trailer. They are probably right. The new frame has the area of the cracks beefed up with a wider gusset. Looks like it will do the job. I hope so. My warranty is expired as of Feb 2008.
